Aiko's Pavilion of Thoughts

This is random, sudden, and very late, I know. But better late than never! I watched the TV series when it was airing and always wanted to watch this movie, especially after hearing how it rewrote the latter half and came out better, but it came pretty late to English-speaking world. I eventually got it, but I didn't immediately watch it for some reason. Why now? I don't know what came over me. I was looking through TV Tropes pages and found it, which reminded me to watch it. It's been so long that I've forgotten many things about it, so I thought it's a good time to FINALLY watch it. So that I can watch the sequel/2nd movie as well.

As an ex-Love Nikki player, and still a Shining Nikki player, you can say I'm quite invested in this series at this point. I saw it myself when Infinity Nikki was first announced, to the surprise and delight of everyone. I've been looking forward to it so much, and finally, it has arrived!! This is actually my first time playing an open world game (yes, I never even touched Genshin Impact), so I was keen to find out how it goes. Here's my impressions after a day of playing.

Synopsis

The game returns to H City, Tokyo, this time at Konoehara Academy. Strange rumors circulate about "The Departed", who posts ominous notices announcing a student's death at the hands of a spirit. Not long after these notices appear, the student in question vanishes. The protagonist of the first game, Kazuo Yashiki, is called in to investigate these rumors and find the true culprit. But it will not be easy, for he will have to face off against several new spirits haunting the academy, and rumor has it that the Departed is hiding among the students, disguised as one of them - and they also seem have a particular fascination with Kazuo. Accompanying him will be old friends and new faces, including the two mysterious students Himeko Douryou and Michiho Kinukawa. (From TVTropes)

After a few days of binge reading, I finished "Ghost Hunt" manga, including the sequel, "Akumu no Sumu Ie".

I've read this manga long ago, watched parts of the anime, and I remember loving it so much. Even now, many years later, it's still in my heart. Though what I remembered now before re-read was only (spoilers redacted). Anyway, in recent years, I've been wanting to revisit it and finally went ahead with it.

It's an amazing series, quickly becoming my favorite.

It has a different approach to the supernatural you'd see in fictional works. The horror is top-notch, each arcs are uniquely terrifying and put you on edge. The core mystery of Naru is amazingly well-done. While the main characters might not have any big character development, I love them. They're all charming, especially their interactions. I really love their familial bond. My love to this series is renewed. I love this series so much, I need more!!
